Temperature

The ideal temperature at which premium brandies and schnapps should be drunk is between 16 and 18 °C. Cooler temperatures mask the alcohol and the fruity aroma.

Serving

Before serving schnapps, turn the bottle upside down. Schnapps that has been standing for a longer period of time, separates — lighter components such as aromas and alcohol rise while heavier components such as water sink.
Before tasting it, you should let the schnapps breathe in the glass for some minutes to allow it to reveal its typical characteristics. And: Very important to choose the right glass. Generally, tall, slim glasses are to be recommended with the stem opening slightly at the top.

Drinking

The following tips should be observed when drinking a schnapps. A good schnapps can be recognised by the fact that it reveals notes to the nose and palate characteristic of the particular fruit used.
When drinking a schnapps, you take a sip, roll it on your tongue, breathe through your nose with your mouth closed and only then do you swallow it. And then ... Bottoms up!
